We measure success by how many seniors we send to college to play baseball and get an education. We believe that baseball is a tool to other desires, to college, to travel the world, to the MLB, or to learn skills that will help our kids in any career they choose. We believe in the fundamentals of defense and explosive pressure on offense. We believe in paying attention to the little things and execution of every play. Wildcat baseball pursues victory with honor, integrity, and self sacrifice, with a dedication to ourselves, our teammates, our program, our school, and our community. We are Wildcats, and this is how we take care of business.

Coach Atkinson is a proud veteran of the US Army and a proud Navy spouse to his beautiful wife Nakita. Together they have five children, three girls and two boys. As a switch hitting catcher in high school, Coach Atkinson felt lead to serve a higher purpose in the military, but he never lost his love of the game. So, Coach Atkinson became an umpire. He has since umpired at the high school and collegiate levels. He studied umpiring under Jim Evans, a 20 year MLB Umpire and friend. After ten years of umpiring, he then met Indiana University Baseball Coach Tracy Smith. Coach Smith mentored him and hired him to work at his camps and clinics. They have remained friends and mentors to this day, even as Coach Smith took a head coaching position at Arizona State University. Coach Atkinson has been a part of several CIF playoff coaching staffs including the 2013 Div II CIF Champions, Mt. Carmel Sundevils. He recently comes from Mira Mesa High School where they had the best season the baseball program had seen in five years.
